| LOCOG Procurement Opportunities |
At the 2012 Business Summit in November 2009, Gerry Walsh - Procurement Director for the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) outlined upcoming business opportunities which would be made available by the organisation between now and 2012. LOCOG will spend approximately £700 million to procure goods and services in preparation for the London Games in 2012. They are looking to source an additional £700 million in value in kind from their sponsors and partners. Much of this activity will begin in 2010. There are eight core areas of LOCOG’s procurement - Artists, Performance & Events; Sports; Security; Technology; Services; Transport & Logistics; Soft Facilities Management & Catering; and Venues &Hard Facilities Management.
